Hollywood Animal stops. Act 1 has a hard ending: you get a countdown, and when it runs out the "end of Act One" screen appears and you are thrown back to the main menu - your studio is over, whether you were ready or not.
NEVER ENDING removes that ending. Your studio simply keeps going.
WHEN DOES VANILLA END?
On 10 August 1946 a news event fires and starts the Act 1 countdown. The date it counts down to depends on how the Gerstein antitrust storyline went:
- You LOST it -> the game ends 31 December 1946
- You WON it -> the game ends 31 December 1948
This mod removes that ending entirely, on both branches.
POLLUX KEEPS GOING TOO
The POLLUX award ceremony only has data for the years 1933-1948. Past 1948 vanilla silently skips the ceremony forever (it logs "Pollux Ceremony event for year N not found" and moves on). This mod keeps the ceremony running every year, reusing the newest available ceremony, so the awards are still presented in 1949, 1970, 2000...
The nominees and winners are always your real, current-year films - only the ceremony's staging is reused.
NO GAME FILES ARE MODIFIED
Everything is done with runtime patches. Nothing is written into the game's data, so Steam updates and "Verify integrity of game files" can't break it, and removing the mod restores the vanilla ending instantly - no cleanup, no leftovers.
WORKS ON EXISTING SAVES
Even if your save is already past August 1946 with the ending scheduled, the mod blocks the ending screen from ever opening. Just install and load.
Requirements
- Hollywood Animal
- BepInEx 5.4.23.5 (x64)
- Nothing else. No other mods required.
Installation
1. Make sure BepInEx 5.4.23.5 (64-bit / x64) is installed for Hollywood Animal.
The game folder must contain a "BepInEx" folder and "winhttp.dll".
(Run the game once with BepInEx installed so it creates its folders.)
2. Open this .zip and copy its folder INTO your game's BepInEx folder so it merges:
plugins\ -> ...\Hollywood Animal\BepInEx\plugins\
Choose YES / Replace if Windows asks to merge.
3. Launch the game. That's it - no setup, no configuration needed.
To UNINSTALL: delete BepInEx\plugins\Ket_NeverEnding. The vanilla Act 1 ending
comes straight back. No game files were touched, so nothing else to undo.
